The event is brought to you by CASDA, The Greater Capital Region Teacher Center, Capital Region BOCES, The School of Education at the University at Albany, and Russell Sage College.
The Resiliency in K-12 Education Conference brings together educators to explore strategies for strengthening and adapting our education systems. With a focus on fostering resilience in students, educators, and schools, the conference will cover critical topics such as mental health, equity, innovative teaching practices, and community engagement. Participants will leave with practical tools and insights to create supportive, inclusive environments that help students thrive despite challenges.

The event will feature a keynote address by research-practitioner and author of One Trusted Adult: How to Build Strong Connections & Healthy Boundaries with Young People, Dr. Brooklyn Raney.
Additional breakout sessions will feature:
- NYS Office of Mental Health’s Capital Connect Grant Program- a grant funded suicide prevention program available to local districts
- Rensselaer County’s Project AWARE Staff sharing their work on building student resiliency
- Local educators sharing work on social-emotional learning, well-being and self-care, and building resiliency in staff and students
